Calling all zombies! The Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex (KCAC) wants to recreate the “Zombie Horde” experiment as seen on the Mythbusters Zombie Special, and we need your help! We want to see if some of our local celebrities would be able to survive an Indiana Zombie Apocalypse!

Those who have graciously stepped up to the challenge so far are KC Kantz from WTAJ, Josh Widdowson of Hometown Magazine on WCCS FM, Sean Howard, director of Downtown Indiana, and Jim Struzzi, president of Indiana Chamber of Commerce, just to name a few.

We are looking for zombie volunteers to come to the KCAC front parking lot on Wednesday, October 29 at 6:00 p.m. IUP students and employees are encouraged to participate as zombies at the experiment and take advantage of special ticket discounts offered to see Mythbusters live on stage December 4.

Zombies will be trying to “snatch the brains” of the local celebrities. The zombie who snatches the most brains will win two tickets to see Mythbusters live on stage at the KCAC on December 4. We need you to wear your best zombie attire! The most horrifying zombie will also win a pair of tickets to the show. The October 29 Zombie Experience event is free and open to the public.

“MythBusters: Behind the Myths,” starring Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, co-hosts of the Emmy-nominated Discovery series MythBusters, will debut at the KCAC on Thursday, December 4, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets to “MythBusters: Behind the Myths” may be purchased online at, charged by phone at 800-298-4200, or by visiting the KCAC Box Office, located at 711 Pratt Drive, Indiana, Pa. Tickets range from $37 to $57. Special ticket discounts are available for IUP students and IUP employees.
