Undergraduate research spans the gap between knowledge and practice, and it adds value to a student’s overall educational experience. IUP encourages and supports undergraduate students who are interested in presenting and publishing their research.

  • The Council on Undergraduate Research sponsors the annual Posters on the Hill event in Washington, D.C. Nothing demonstrates the value of undergraduate research more than a student participant’s words, work, and stories on display at Capitol Hill. This event includes an evening poster session and reception where students have the opportunity to speak directly to members of Congress. The deadline for abstract submission is November 5, 2014
  • The Keystone Journal of Undergraduate Research has issued a Call for Manuscripts to all undergraduate students at State System institutions. The Keystone Journal of Undergraduate Research is an online, multidisciplinary, faculty-reviewed publication dedicated to showcasing outstanding undergraduate research. See guidelines and manuscript submission instructions.
  • The 10th annual Undergraduate Scholars Forum provides all IUP undergraduate students with the opportunity for professional development by presenting their original research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors. This year’s forum is scheduled for April 7, 2015. The deadline for abstract submission is February 27, 2015.
  • Throughout the year, IUP offers undergraduate student research funding for research projects and travel to present papers or creative activities.
