The Litton Quartet, IUP’s faculty string quartet, will present its
first concert of the new season on October 7, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital
Hall, which is located on the second floor of IUP’s Sutton Hall. The concert
is the first one of the Sound Choices series for the Lively Arts’ 25th anniversary season.
The program will include two of the most experimental works of the
classic era; Haydn’s op. 76 no. 6 and Beethoven’s op 95–the Serioso. The
quartet will also play two pieces by first violinist Stanley Chepaitis. These
works are from his ballet The Ugly
Duckling, which was premiered in May 2014 with choreography by Joan
