The IUP English Department, in partnership with EGO (the English Graduate Organization) and IUP Libraries, will host a Banned Books Read Out in Stapleton Library at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24. Read Out celebrates the freedom to read and brings awareness to ongoing issues of literary censorship.
Students, staff, faculty, and the community are invited to attend. Join us to Read Out your favorite passages from banned books, or simply to listen and learn about the censorship issues that affect us all. Student-selected passages will be prepared for anyone interested in reading. Join us for refreshments and a lively celebration of our freedom to read.
For more info, check out the EGO and IUP Libraries Facebook pages and the Banned Books Week website, or contact Tanya Heflin at firstname.lastname@example.org. Wednesday, September 24, 1:00–2:00 p.m. in Stapleton Library.
