Get a seat at one of the most special arts events of the year in Pennsylvania: Reserve your free tickets to the Governor’s Awards for the Arts, 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, at the IUP Performing Arts Center.

Governor's Awards for the Arts - September 28, 2014All faculty, students, staff, and alumni and residents of the Indiana County area are invited to this wonderful event recognizing the 2014 recipients of the state's highest arts distinction. 

Celebrate the arts in Pennsylvania and show your state pride in this fun tribute to the vision and work of:

  • The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, Arts Innovation Award;
  • painter Robert Qualters, Pittsburgh, Artist of the Year;
  • composer Jennifer Higdon, Philadelphia, Distinguished Arts Award;
  • Mark Pasquerilla, Johnstown, Arts Patron Award;
  • and Indiana's own Myron Hays Tomb, Arts Leadership and Service Award.

The awards event is followed by a free reception open to the public at the new Crimson Cafe.

More arts activities take place around Indiana County before the event, including open studios in Indiana County, open houses at cultural venues in downtown Indiana, a bandstand and exhibits at IUP, and a public reception after the awards event.
