Recent graduate Shannon O’Reilly and Professor John A. Mueller, Department of
Student Affairs in Higher Education, have published a book review in
the latest issue of the Journal of College and Character.
The journal is the leading periodical devoted to character development, civic learning, and moral and ethical behaviors of college students.
The book O’Reilly and Mueller reviewed, Faithiest: How an Atheist Found
Common Ground with the Religious, is an account of a young atheist negotiating
his views on religion, faith, and sexuality.
In telling his story, the author argues that engaging in constructive dialogue
is more important than converting one
another or eradicating religion altogether.
