24th Annual Health and Human Services Awards and Recognition Ceremony

The College of Health and Human Services celebrated its 24th annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony on April 24, 2014.

Faculty, staff, students, retired faculty, community partners, and university leadership gathered to celebrate the past academic year and the positive impact the college had on the university and our local, national, and professional communities.

The following awards were presented:

2014 Outstanding Teaching Award:

Alida Merlo, Department of Criminology

2014 Outstanding Senior Research Award (Tenured Faculty):

Bitna Kim, Department of Criminology

2014 Outstanding Junior Research Award (Tenure Track Faculty):

Laura Ott, Department of Nursing and Allied Health

2014 Inaugural Dean’s Award

This award recognizes a student group and/or department program/initiative that contributes to the developing healthier communities. This year, the Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Faculty of the Department of Food and Nutrition received the award for their initiative “Helping Indiana County Fight Hunger: Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”
