Half-Hour Nutrition Workshops You Don’t Want to Miss

Take advantage of four half-hour workshops and learn everything from the different types of fat in your diet to the calories in alcohol to portion distortion! Attendance vouchers will be available at all workshops.

Monday, April 21
4:00–4:30 p.m. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly… But Why Does It Matter? Make sense of the current recommendations about different types of fats in our diets. Learn what these fats do, where they’re found, and how much we should eat.
Monday, April 21 5:00–5:30 p.m. Vegetarianism: Eating the Other, Other White Meat Thinking about becoming a vegetarian? Find out about the different types of vegetarians and choices you can make to be sure you get all the nutrients you need to stay healthy.
Monday, April 21 5:30–6:00 p.m. Keg or 6-Pack? The Truth about Alcohol and Calories Does beer have more calories than wine or a mixed drink? We’ll check out the calorie content of popular alcoholic beverages to help you rethink your drink.  
Monday, April 21 6:00–6:30 p.m. Eat This, Not That!
Feel like you’re always on the go? Come and learn about healthier choices you can make at your favorite places around campus and off campus.
Tuesday, April 22
5:30–6:00 p.m.
Portion Distortion Learn how portion sizes for foods have changed and participate in hands-on activities with portion sizes to help you be a better judge of what you eat.


All workshops are held in the Center for Health and Well-Being, Room G-60
