IUP Women’s Basketball Summer Camps: Individual Girls and Elite Players

Posted on 4/10/2014 10:00:17 AM

These two camps offer a great way to spend your day with players and coaches from IUP!

Individual Day Girl’s Basketball Camp (Grades 2–8)

  • June 16–19, 2014
  • 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • Registration: 8:15 a.m.

This is a great camp to work and improve on your total game. Participants will work on ball handling, passing, shooting, defensive techniques, and rebounding skills. There will also be individual and team competitions in which awards will be given at the end of the week.

Campers will be separated into groups based on age and skill level. Swimming will be included in the daily schedule, since it was such a huge part of the 2011 summer camp success.

Elite Player Camp (Grades 9–12)

  • June 17, 2014
  • 5:00–8:00 p.m.
  • Registration: 4:15 p.m.

This camp is designed to get players ready for the next level.

There will be intense workouts on the court to go along with competitive games. You will have the opportunity to learn the same individual drills that the three-time PSAC champion IUP Crimson Hawks do on a daily basis to improve their skills. You will also have a chance to be evaluated by the IUP coaching staff in a competitive setting against top-notch players. It will be very similar to a college practice.
