David Wachob, assistant professor in the Health and Physical
Education Department, discussed the logistics and benefits of having a
university-run K-12 educational program.
The session, “Starting a University-based K-12 Educational Program
for Homeschooling Families,” was presented at the 127th annual convention of
the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, in
St. Louis, Mo.
The session was based on the IUP Homeschool Physical
Education Program, which Wachob started nearly two years ago. This instructional program provides K-12 homeschooling
students standards-based lessons that are taught by pre-service
teachers in the Health and Physical Education Department.
