With two weeks left to go, the University Family Drive is 80 percent to the goal of 550 donors. So far, faculty and staff have committed more than $93,000 to 174 different programs and funds across campus.
If you’ve already made your commitment—thank you! Please consider helping to move us closer to our goal by encouraging a colleague to join you.
If you haven’t made your commitment yet, there’s still time. Maybe the answers to the questions below will assist you in your decision.
Why should I give?
Each of us has a vested interest in the success of the university and the students we serve, and giving is a tangible way to signify our commitment and our belief in IUP students. Your gift this year will assist IUP in its quest to attain performance
funding from PASSHE—each donor’s participation brings us one step closer. It’s the definition of team effort. What’s more, charitable foundations and other agencies often look at faculty and staff giving rates. By giving to IUP, you say to them that
you believe the work of the university is worth their investment, too.
How can I designate
You may designate your gift to an academic department or college, scholarship fund, athletics team, arts initiative, or any effort for which there is a fund established in the Foundation for IUP. Have questions about funds that are available? Contact
the Office of Annual Giving at 724-357-5555 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
I gave a gift this
year as a result of a phonathon call or a letter that I received—does that
Yes! Many of our employees are also alumni of IUP, and, as such, may be solicited in other ways throughout the year. Gifts to the Foundation for IUP made via any solicitation during the course of a fiscal year (July 1- June 30) count toward University
Family participation. So, if you made a gift after July 1, 2013, you are counted as a University Family donor for this year. Of course, you can choose to broaden your impact by making a second gift!
Is my gift tax
Yes! Gifts to the Foundation for IUP are tax deductible, per IRS regulations.
How much should I
Every gift, no matter the amount, is important to IUP’s future. Your participation in the University Family Drive—your belief in IUP’s potential—is what this drive is all about. For examples on of what your gift or approximate payroll deduction can do
to assist a student, improve a classroom experience, or make the campus a nicer place. See the University Family Drive web page for more information.
How can I make my
