Love YourIUP 200px The University Family Drive kicks off today, Monday, March 3, and your participation will have a positive impact on the student experience and on the financial health of the university.

Giving is easily accomplished through payroll deduction or an outright gift. Check your department mailbox for materials, visit the University Family Drive page for details or to make your payroll deduction pledge electronically, or give now using a credit card.

This spring, the goal of the drive is to raise support for IUP departments and programs from 550 employees. To date, the drive is more than 50 percent to goal.

No matter your role on campus, you are part of our unique IUP family. Odds are good that your work gives students reason to love IUP. You can foster their love for IUP, and even show your own, by giving to the Foundation for IUP during the University Family Drive. When many members of the university family contribute, not only is the student experience positively impacted, the power in numbers also conveys to alumni and to Harrisburg that we care, that we are dedicated to our cause, and that IUP is, in turn, worthy of their support.  When our students have an excellent experience here, they are more likely to contribute after they become alumni.

Moreover, IUP students need you. At a time when the costs associated with attaining a degree--text books, rent, and even fuel costs for our commuters--are on the rise, donor support is crucial. Each semester, many students are able to maintain their enrollment because of scholarship support they receive. Without it, and without donors like you, they may no longer be able study on campus.

Need another reason to give?

If the number of individual donors increases this year, we stand to be rewarded additional budget money from PASSHE. The same holds true if the sum total dollars of charitable support increases.  Last year, because of IUP’s progress towards established performance measures across the university, IUP received a performance award of $4.2 million. It’s a team effort—every donor counts.

The drive, operated by the Office of Annual Giving and a fleet of volunteers from every college and division across campus, runs through April 4. Faculty and staff may designate their gifts to their own departments, to any scholarship fund of their choosing, or to any fund within the Foundation for IUP. All donors will be invited to a Victory Reception hosted by President Michael Driscoll on April 14.
