More than a thousand students trudged through the snow and wind to participate in IUP Philanthropy Day, held in Stapleton Library and on the Punxsutawney campus February 27, 2014. They completed post cards of thanks and used social media tools to express their appreciation to IUP’s nearly 10,000 donors in 2013.
The festivities included a photo booth, allowing students to dress up in costume, if they wanted, to express appreciation of thanks with signs, and spread the word about the power of private gifts using Twitter and Instagram (#IHeartIUP).
Students and faculty and staff members who attended also completed post cards that will be mailed to donors.
The University Advancement Division thanks the Student Philanthropy Council, the IUP Ambassadors, and Aramark for their contributions to the event, which also coincided with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s National Philanthropy Day.
Philanthropy Day serves as the kick off for the University Family Drive.
