IUP’s Pittsburgh regional advancement officer has been chosen with 26 others to be honored with the ninth annual Women of Achievement Awards.
This is the second award for Debra Valentine-Gray, who works
in IUP’s office at 20 Stanwix Street in Pittsburgh.
The awards program, which benefits the Cribs for Kids Program, is held annually in conjunction with Women’s History Month. Valentine-Gray will
accept the award at a dinner in Pittsburgh on March 6.
Among her accomplishments at IUP, Valentine-Gray has
stewarded a partnership between the Heinz Endowments and the College of Education
and Educational Technology that resulted in the Pittsburgh Promise Plus
Program.
Prior to joining IUP in 2008, Valentine-Gray served Junior
Achievement of Southern California as senior development director and the
United Way of Greater Los Angeles as director of resource development. In
addition to her nonprofit experience, she has 20 years of experience in
corporate marketing and administration. A graduate of Point Park University,
she is a District II board member of the Council for Advancement and Support of
Education.
In 2013, Valentine-Gray was named among the New Pittsburgh
Courier’s Women of Excellence.
