The Future Entrepreneurs Club, a newly formed student organization, visited SnapRetail in Pittsburgh on November 14, 2013.

SnapRetail, located in the Strip District, is an Internet start-up company whose Web-based platform gives small independent retailers an edge on e-mail and social marketing using proven techniques.

Students learned about the company’s history and its approach to help improve the way small retailers interact with customers online.

Future Entrepreneurs Club Vice President Krutarth Patel said the trip was very beneficial to the students.

“The opportunity to sit and talk with the COO and 1982 IUP graduate Suzy Teele was truly impactful,” Patel said. “It provided us with unique insight into the entrepreneurship landscape and the future outlook of consumer marketing.”

“Having met some of the staff, it is also fair to recognize SnapRetail’s reputation of snapping up IUP’s talented young graduates,” Patel said.

The mission of the Future Entrepreneurs Club is to help cultivate future entrepreneurs and instill in them qualities and characteristics that future leaders need.

The organization also allows for networking with current business owners and provides a forum for students interested in entering the annual PASSHE Business Plan Competition.
