In Chicago,” Baby Wants Candy brings their improvisational experience
and expertise to Indiana in presenting two musical improvisation
The first workshop is 5:00–10:00 p.m. on
Sunday, November 17, 2013, in room 126 of Cogswell Hall, and will feature
James Rushin (musical director) and Erica Elam (Los Angeles cast member) working
with IUP theater students. All IUP students and community members
interested in improvisation are invited to audit to learn more about
this exciting and unique art form.
The second workshop is at
Indiana Area Senior High School, 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., on Monday,
November 18, 2013, and will again feature James Rushin and Erica Elam as
they work with Indiana high school students.
component to this educational outreach is that participating IUP theater
and Indiana High School students will have the opportunity to perform
with the BWC cast on the first half of their 8:00 p.m. performance on
Tuesday, November 19, at the Indiana High School Auditorium.
Absolutely every moment of the performance—both the first half with
students and the second half featuring a completely improvised musical
based on a title suggested by the audience—is completely improvised!
