Student Affairs in Higher Education Well Represented at PCPA State Conference

Students and alumni of the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) presented educational programs and received awards at the annual conference of Pennsylvania College Personnel Association (PCPA) in Mechanicsburg, Pa., held October 20–22, 2013.  

Jenna Konyak (’13) Katie Shoemaker (’13) presented “Getting the Most Out of Your Graduate Experience.” Konyak and SAHE alumna Brian Root (’06) presented “If These Walls Could Talk: A Look at the OACS Living Community at Pitt-Greensburg.”

Awards were presented to Sean McGowan (’13) as PCPA Outstanding Graduate Student and to Shoemaker and Konyak for winning the PCPA Graduate Student Case Study Competition.

PCPA, a state division of the American College Personnel Association, serves student affairs professionals and graduate students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. SAHE alumna and IUP Developmental Studies faculty member Amber Racchini (’03) currently serves as the association’s president.
