Your passwords protect your data and personal information
from unauthorized access. Your level of protection is as only as good as the
strength of your password.
Passwords consisting of a word and some numbers can be
cracked in a matter of hours. To ensure strong passwords:
- Use six or more characters.
- Include upper- and lower-case letters, numbers,
and special characters (@, $, %, or !).
- Think in terms of alternative spellings of words
and using whole phrases (e.g., “Pl@net” for “Planet” and “!luvkats” for “I love
cats.”
The video offers some more recommendations on
creating strong passwords.
