The Health and Physical Education Department (HPED) started up its
wellness program, the Homeschool Physical Education
Program, for local homeschooling families again on September 26, 2013, in Zink
Hall.
The program is designed to promote physical activity and positive
social interaction for local homeschooling children. There are nearly 120
children currently enrolled ranging from pre-K through 12th grade,
with a growing waiting list of interested families.
Students within the HPED
department gain experience by facilitating activities such as physical
education classes, swim lessons, and fitness training for the parents. The
program is linked to multiple pedagogy courses which provide students with real
life teaching experience and content application.
