For the third year in a row, the Special Education and Clinical Services Department raised over $1,000 at its Confections for a Cause fundraiser!
The Confections for a Cause event is held in honor of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September. The goal is to raise money to support the research efforts of the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Ths year’s event took place in Davis Hall on Monday, September 16, 2013. The event was a huge success thanks to the support of the IUP community!
The sweet treats were prepared and donated by the faculty, staff, and students of the Special Education and Clinical Services Department and others in the College of Education and Educational Technology.
Help for the event was provided by the IUP chapters of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Future Educators of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students, and the Council for Exceptional Children.
The money raised will go to the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, which seeks to raise awareness of the disease, find an early detection test for ovarian cancer, and to find improved treatments for the disease. Anyone wishing to contribute can make donations through the foundation’s website.
