Gloria Park (English) will be a special guest editor for TESOL Journal’s special themed issue for 2014. The co-editor is IUP alumna Sarah Henderson Lee.

“Critical Crossroads: Investigating Nonnativeness, Race, Class, Gender, and Sexuality in an Era of World Englishes”

This special TESOL Journal issue will showcase articles on the connection between nonnative speakers working with World Englishes, as well as the critical issues of race, gender, class, and sexuality, in enhancing the second language teacher education curricula.

Much research has been conducted on examining the personal, academic, and professional experiences of nonnative speakers working with English language learners and pre/in-service teachers in world-languages teacher education contexts. This special issue aims to uncover the rich experiences of nonnative speakers, to provide teacher educators and researchers alike the opportunity to begin to understand the learning and teaching identities of nonnative speakers navigating through multiple, dynamic, fluid, and transnational spaces.
