President’s Advancing Grantsmanship Awards: Important Changes for 2013–2014

Posted on 8/19/2013 11:15:27 AM

The President's Advancing Grantsmanship Award Program, now entering its fourth year, incentivizes and recognizes faculty who submit grant or contract proposals to external (non-IUP) entities by providing $2,500 awards to qualifying faculty.

Encouraging faculty to submit external grant applications helps IUP continue to grow its research opportunities for faculty and students.

To be eligible for a President’s Advancing Grantsmanship award, recipients must be current IUP faculty members who have submitted a grant application to an external funding entity requesting at least $75,000 this fiscal year (July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014). Starting this year, awards of $2,500 will be deposited into new “research and professional development” designated cost centers for each recipient. Award funds can be used for research/conference travel, equipment, publication costs, hiring student workers, or other such research-related activities, including 3-credit faculty research releases.
