Over the past year, the IUP Writing Center has launched two programs that engage students and faculty in discussions and workshops outside the classroom.
The weekly Wednesday Workshop series has run for three semesters, giving students the chance to attend some of our most popular writing workshops without having to come for a specific class. Topics typically include proofreading, MLA and APA documentation, and revising research papers. The monthly Lunch and Learn series, launched in Fall 2012, invites students and faculty to discuss topics with expert faculty members. We’ve had roundtable discussions on such topics as digital literacy, the clash between superheroes and academia, and National Novel Writing Month.
As we enter our second and third years of these programs, we would like student and faculty input about the benefits of and opportunities to strengthen these programs. Tutors will conduct two group interviews about these programs on Wednesday, April 24, and Wednesday, May 1, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. in the Writing Center workshop room (218 Eicher Hall). Pizza and beverages will be provided.
If you would like to participate, please register online by April 23.
