Michele Papakie, of the IUP Journalism Department, attended Clarion University’s High Impact Practices Conference in February 2013 with six other team members from IUP, who represented the university’s Center for Teaching Excellence’s Reflective Practice Project.
Team members brought back some new and exciting best practices that they plan to introduce campuswide at upcoming RP events. Many thanks to the Provost’s Office for funding the team’s participation in this experience. They plan to continue the discussion about incorporating more high impact practices at IUP.
The IUP team included: Mark Palumbo of Psychology, Katie Farnsworth of Geoscience, Bob Hinrichsen of Biology, Stephanie Taylor-Davis of Food and Nutrition, Michele Papakie of Journalism, Jack Makara of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining, and Mary Anne Hannibal of Professional Studies in Education, who is also the director for the Center for Teaching Excellence.
