Basketball: Community Free Tickets Night, January 26 2013

IUP Athletics is offering 2,000 free ticket vouchers and refreshments to members of the Indiana County community for the men's and women's  basketball doubleheader against Mercyhurst at the Kovalchick Complex Ed Fry Arena on Saturday, January 26, 2013.

As supporters of the United Way of Indiana County, the basketball teams have invited the agency to distribute the vouchers to the 15 United Way partner agencies and their board members as a thank-you for the work they do for the county.

Ticket vouchers are available beginning January 19, 2013 at these five locations:

  • Benjamin's Restaurant, 458 Philadelphia St.
  • Indiana Gazette, 899 Water St.
  • Indiana Mall office, Oakland Ave.
  • Renda Broadcasting, 840 Philadelphia St.
  • Romeo's Pizzeria and Mediterranean Kitchen, 1112 Oakland Ave

The first 2,000 vouchers presented at the Kovalchick box office will be honored. Vouchers may be redeemed the night of the games or during regular box office hours: 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, and 10:00 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday.

The women's game tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.; men's tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. Free light refreshments will be provided from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The United Way partner agencies are the Alice Paul House, American Red Cross, accessAbilities, Boy Scouts of America/Laurel Highlands Council, Camp Orenda, Chevy Chase Community Center, Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania, Indiana County Head Start, Indiana County Catholic Charities, Indiana County Day Care, Lifesteps of Indiana County, Open Door, Salvation Army, Visiting Nurse Association, and YMCA.
