Professor Steve Hovan, Department of Geoscience, was selected to serve on the review panel selecting this year's National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships.

The program provides fellowships to individuals selected early in their graduate careers based on their demonstrated potential for significant achievements in science and engineering.

The National Science Foundation anticipates awarding nearly $243 million in funding this year to highly qualified recipients in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Hovan will serve with about 20 faculty from institutions around the United States to review applications submitted to the Geoscience program.
