Trumpet Ensemble to Perform Free Concert

The IUP Trumpet Ensemble will present its annual fall recital on Friday, December 7, 2012, in in the DiCicco Rehearsal Studio, Room 121 of Cogswell Hall on the IUP campus. The program will begin at 6:00 p.m., and admission is free.

The repertoire will feature numerous pieces for the 30-member ensemble along with works for smaller groups. The performance will begin with the U.S. premiere of Jack Stamp’s “WASBE 2011 Fanfare,” which was commissioned for the 2011 World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles conference, held in Taiwan.

David Ferguson, assistant dean of the College of Fine Arts, will be the featured soloist on an arrangement of “Here’s That Rainy Day.” Kevin Eisensmith directs the IUP Trumpet Ensemble.
