IUP to Host C-CUE Conference on December 7

IUP will host the C-CUE (Consortium for Computing in Undergraduate Education) Conference on December 7, 2012, in Stapleton Library, room 201. C-CUE is an organization composed of membership from 25 universities and colleges in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The conference theme is “Document Retention and Imaging and IMAPS Institutional Repository.”

IUP employees are welcome to attend any or all of the six sessions to be presented, and there is no registration fee for the conference.

The sessions for the conference include:

  • 9:15–10:00 a.m. — “IMAPS (IUP Institute for Mine Mapping, Archival Procedures, and Safety)” by Chris Wells, IUP IMAPS graduate assistant
  • 10:00–10:45 a.m. — “Using the Special Collections and University Archives at IUP” by Harrison Wick, IUP Special Collections librarian and university archivist
  • 11:00–11:30 a.m. — “IMAPS Storage/Backup Solution Using Distributed FileSystem (DFS) and NetApp Filers” by Tom Rodgers and Brad Smith, IUP IT Services
  • 11:30 a.m.–Noon — “Small Digital Library Grants Yield Big Benefits in Increased Access and Student Learning Outcomes” by Theresa McDevitt, IUP Government Information/Outreach librarian
  • 1:00–1:45 p.m. — “Selection and Implementation of an Electronic Forms and Workflow System” by Todd Cunningham and Erika Bracken, IUP IT Services
  • 1:45–2:15 p.m. — “Digital Repository Systems” by Ed Zimmerman, IUP IT Services
