The first annual recipient of the award in 2010 was Ray Coppler, an undergraduate student with a disability who has since graduated and for whom the award is permanently named. The second annual recipient in 2011 was Lindsey DePra, also an undergraduate student with a disability who has since graduated.
October is National Disability Awareness Month (most recently known as National Disability Employment Awareness Month). To celebrate, IUP will be hosting a Six O’Clock Series presentation on October 29 by Veronica Villalobos, director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for U.S. Office of Personnel Management and former attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Read more about Villalobos. At the conclusion of Villalobos’ presentation, we will present the third Annual Ray Coppler Award to a deserving IUP community member.
The brief nomination form can be completed online until October 17.
An appointed selection committee will review submissions after the deadline and decide which nominee is most deserving of this year’s award. The award will be presented at the Six O’Clock Series on October 29.
Thanks for your consideration in offering a nomination!
