IUP Students Invited to “Lunch and Learn” with Professors

Posted on 8/16/2012 2:21:49 PM

Have you ever thought about creating

…an e-book?
…a family tree?
…a novel?

To encourage students to think about writing outside of the classroom, the Writing Center will host a monthly Lunch and Learn series covering writing-related topics such as literacy, genealogy, and publishing fiction.

All IUP students, faculty, and staff are invited to bring their lunches to the Writing Center in 218 Eicher Hall for Lunch and Learn sessions. Each discussion will start at 12:30 p.m. and last about one hour.

The program dates and topics are as follows:

  • Sept. 7, 2012 — English instructor Ann Amuicucci will discuss digital literacy and digital tools to celebrate National Literacy Day.
  • Oct. 12, 2012 — Special Collections Librarian and University Archivist Harrison Wick will discuss the resources available in IUP's Special Collections in celebration of National Family History Month.
  • Nov. 9, 2012 — English instructor Mitch James will discuss the process of writing fiction and his novel, Antigua Rising, to commemorate National Novel Writing Month.
