Students and Alumnus Honored at Student Affairs in Higher Education as Part of Departmental Commencement

Several students and an alumna from the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education were honored for exceptional accomplishments and contributions as part of the department's Commencement 2012 ceremonies.

  • Cory Campbell ’13 received the Get Involved! SAHE Leadership Award and a $250 scholarship established by Erin Baker and Tom Baker ’05 of Baker Leadership.
  • Emilie Campbell '12 and Chris Weiss ’12 each received the Outstanding Scholar award for their academic achievements and their ability to enhance the learning environment for their colleagues.
  • Victoria (Tory) Rowlands ’12 received the S. Trevor Hadley Outstanding Student Award for her academic accomplishments and significant service to the campus and the community. 
  • Rhonda Gifford '93 was presented the Ronald Lunardini Distinguished Alumni Award. She is currently the Director of Career Services at California University of Pennsylvania.

Awards were presented at the SAHE annual banquet, on Thursday, May 10.

Rowlands was also chosen to give the address at the SAHE Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 12. SAHE students and faculty annually select the department commencement speaker on the basis of oratory excellence and ability to represent their classmates.
