In February 2012, Crystal Machado, Professional Studies in Education, and Michelle Sobolak (University of Pittsburgh) presented a paper titled, “To Lead or Not to Lead: What Motivates Today’s Teachers?” at the Eastern Educational Research Association conference in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
This paper reports on a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning project that was developed to investigate the degree to which in-service teachers were willing to play a leadership role within and beyond their classrooms.
