Graduate Business Student Association Visits Federal Reserve Bank

Eleven students from the Graduate Business Student Association visited the Federal Reserve Bank in New York, N.Y.

During their visit on March 23, 2012, the students heard a presentation on the reserve’s history and its roles in the United States. They also visited the gold vault and learned about the bank’s educational program.

Graduate Business Student Association in New York“The visit proved to be a great opportunity to better understand the role of an institution that has played a critical part in trying to resolve the financial crisis and help the country’s economic recovery,” said Herizo Andrianiaina Ranaivosoa, GBSA vice president.

The Federal Reserve is the central banking system of the United States and conducts the nation’s monetary policy, supervises and regulates banking institutions, maintains the financial systems, and provides financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government and foreign official institutions.
