The Indiana High School drama program has been invited to the prestigious Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Lively Arts at IUP is helping them get there. For every ticket sold for the "Ovations!" series performance of Young Frankenstein: The Musical on April 16, 2012, Lively Arts will donate $1.00 to the IHS Road to Fringe fund.

This is part of the Lively Arts' extensive outreach to area students through its ArtsPath program.

“Now that Indiana High School has been invited to the most prestigious performance festival in the world, we want to make sure they have the opportunity to go with the least personal financial burden possible,” said Hank Knerr, Lively Arts director. “When I was in high school and college, some of the most memorable, educational, and inspiring memories were those related to trips to concerts and plays, and in touring the U.S. and other countries."

The IHS Drama Program will serve as the official hosts for the Young Frankenstein performance. Several students will provide the audience with information about their project, and other students, parents, and teachers will staff an informational table in the Performing Arts Center grand lobby.

The hosts and other students from the high school are also being invited to join two members of theYoung Frankenstein company after the performance for an informal Q&A session.

Young Frankenstein: The Musical

Fisher Auditorium, Performing Arts Center

A wickedly inspired hit Broadway musical from the zaniness of Mel Brooks and his incarnation of equally slapstick and slightly bawdy movie of the same name. It’s alive at the Lively Arts!

This event is over.
