English professor Jim Cahalan will be a guest on Acoustic Hour, WCCS 1160 AM, 9:00–10:00 a.m., on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

Cahalan will discuss the Si Kahn folk concert scheduled for 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at the IUP Performing Arts Center’s Fisher Auditorium.

He'll discuss Kahn's work as a singer-songwriter and play some of his recordings. He'll also discuss Kahn's accomplishments as a worker's rights advocate.

The concert is part of the Appalachian Studies Association annual national conference, to be hosted by IUP March 23–25. Cahalan, program chair, and sociology professor Jim Dougherty, conference chair, are responsible for bringing the conference to a location north of the Mason Dixon Line for the first time in its 35-year history. More than 700 scholars are expected to attend, including approximately 100 IUP faculty, students, and alumni.

Acoustic Hour is hosted by Anthony Frazier and produced by Renda Broadcasting.
