The IUP Department of Counseling is welcoming nominations for its Alumni Recognitions. These recognitions will be awarded during the department’s Celebration Banquet on April 20, 2012, which will be held at Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex in Indiana, Pa.
The Alumni Recognitions honor individuals who have earned a graduate degree from the IUP Counseling Department for their outstanding contributions and/or distinguished professional career in counseling, education, or other professional fields at the regional or national level.
“The recognitions are just one way to showcase alumni who have truly soared professionally,” said Claire Dandeneau, department chair. “Our department has a rich history, dating back to 1965, so we’re fortunate to have a strong base of alumni throughout the country.”
In 2009, Susan Sibert was presented with an Alumni Recognition. Sibert received her M.Ed. in School Counseling from IUP in 1993 and her doctorate in Administration and Leadership from IUP in 2008.
Nominations for the Alumni Recognitions may be submitted by either a current or past department faculty member, an IUP alumna/alumnus, or a community member. Self-nominations will also be accepted.
Details regarding nomination criteria and submissions can be found on the Department of Counseling website. Information about the Celebration Banquet is also available on the same website.
Nominations must be postmarked or e-mailed by March 20, 2012.
