Hank Knerr, director of the Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, was recently invited to join the board of directors of Pennsylvania Presenters.
The invitation was extended in December 2011 by Pennsylvania Presenters board president Deborah Baker, special events manager at Slippery Rock University.
Pennsylvania Presenters, with offices located in Emmaus, Pa., and established in 1987, is a consortium of performance presenters, artists, and agents working in the touring performing arts field. Consisting of over 100 individual, organizational, and institutional members, the group facilitates dynamic peer-to peer connections and is considered among the top organizations of its kind in the U.S.
Knerr served previously as president of Pennsylvania Presenters. In 2009, the organization bestowed him with the first Presenter of the Year Award.
He has also served as a board member with the Indiana County Humane Society, Indiana Arts Council, and Indiana County Tourist Bureau and currently sits on the board of the Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance. He currently sits on advisory committees for several organizations, including an arts teaching certification program at the University of the Arts through the Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership.
Knerr participates regularly as a conference panelist and consultant in the fields of performing arts presenting, community outreach, and arts-in-education and has twice chaired statewide arts conferences.
