Geoscience student Dan O’Hara (’15) has been awarded travel support from the American Geophysical Union to attend its Fall 2011 meeting in San Francisco, California.
Dan was selected to give a talk on his research, an extraordinary opportunity for an undergraduate student that reflects the high quality and compelling nature of Dan’s research. Dan will travel with his faculty collaborator, Dr. Jon Lewis, and fellow Geoscience student Ellen Lamont (’12).
This meeting serves as a focal point for cutting-edge science in fields as far ranging as seismology, planetary evolution, space weather, and paleoclimatology. Attendance at the meeting approaches 20,000, drawn from a truly international community.
Dan’s travel will also be supported by generous contributions from the Department of Geoscience, the School of Graduate Studies and Research, and the dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
