Dee Eppinger, center, was lifted by her teammates after her game-winning hit, May 20, 2011.

Down 2-0 in its final at bat, the IUP softball team had an improbable three-run rally to defeat Bloomsburg in game one of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Super Regional, Friday, May 20, 2011.

Dee Eppinger singled in the tying and winning runs with IUP down to its final out to lift the Crimson Hawks to a 3-2 victory in the opening game of the best-of-three series at Podbielski Field on IUP’s South Campus. (See photos from the opening game.)

The second game of the series will take place Saturday, May 21, at noon at Podbielski Field. A Crimson Hawks victory would send them to the College World Series for the first time in school history. If Bloomsburg wins game two, a deciding third game will take place thirty minutes after the end of the second.

The College World Series will be held May 26-30 in Salem, Va. The Bloomsburg Huskies are the defending Super Regional champion.
