Business Honors program students at the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology attended a networking event Thursday, March 31, 2011, in New York City.

Members of the progam’s junior and senior cohorts met with IUP alumni during the event, hosted by Andrew Sandberg ’05 (Accounting), a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC).

Sandberg, Ric Clark ’80 (Business Administration), CEO of Brookfield Financial Properties LP, and Felipe Ucrós ’05 (Finance and Accounting), an analyst at BTG Pactual, presented career and job searching advice at the event, followed by a networking session.

“It was valuable to hear from these alumni regarding their experience at IUP and their successful career paths,” said Lauren Young, a senior Marketing major.

Alex Pfeffer, a senior Accounting major, and Ethan Robinson, a junior International Business and Economics major, have obtained job and internship opportunities through the event.

“I was amazed at how quickly a networking event resulted in a legitimate job lead,” Pfeffer said.

Pfeffer met a partner at PwC during the event and has since interviewed with the company for a job. Robinson has also secured a summer internship with a real estate firm in New York City.

In addition, the students toured the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building (photo above), Ellis Island, Wall Street, and the United Nations during their stay.
