Lowery Named to NASPA Editorial Boards

Dr. John Wesley Lowery, associate professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education Department, was recently named to work with several NASPA publications.

Lowery was named to the editorial board for the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice (JSARP). The mission of the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice is to publish the most rigorous, relevant, and well-respected research that makes a difference in student affairs practice. Formerly known as NASPA Journal, the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice fosters open and critical discourse within and across disciplines from the perspective of student affairs in higher education. He previously served on the editorial board of and co-edited a special issue of the NASPA Journal.

Lowery was also named a department editor for the Journal of College and Character. A professional, peer-reviewed publication, Journal of College and Character focuses on character development in college and how colleges and universities influence, both intentionally and unintentionally, the moral and civic learning and behavior of their students. The journal includes resources and information designed to encourage discussion, research, and innovative educational practices, publishing scholarly articles and applied research on issues related to ethics, values, and character development in higher education. Lowery will be responsible for the Best Practice column in the journal.
