The Institute for Business and Finance Research, LLC, recognized the
Eberly College of Business and Information Technology at a conference January 2–5, 2011, in Las Vegas.
Dr. Parimal Bhagat, chairperson of the
Marketing Department, accepted the Leadership Award on behalf of IUP at the 2011 Winter Global Conference for Business and Finance Research.
Bhagat also served as a session chair and presented a scholarly paper on sustainability in the global context at the conference, he said. More than three hundred universities, institutions, and firms from nearly sixty different countries attended the conference. IBFR selected IUP and fifteen other academic institutions for the award.
“The institute chose IUP for its support for professional development of its faculty in the Eberly College,” Bhagat said.
Institutes receive the award “in recognition of an ongoing commitment to faculty development and in appreciation of research support provided to the academic communities,” according to a description in the conference program.
