Carolyn Princes, associate dean of Students and director of the African American Cultural Center, received an invitation from the National Conference on Higher Education to sponsor thirty students and two other chaperones to the twenty-fifth Graduate Opportunities Conference for Minority Students in Higher Education on February 18–20, 2011, in Philadelphia.
The conference is designed to “mentor and inspire the students to reach beyond college and take the next step in completing the educational circle: graduate school.”
Covered costs include registration, travel, lodging, and meals.
Students were notified of this opportunity in early December and have been enthusiastically submitting the required application along with the materials needed to support their consideration for attending the conference. Final decisions are now being made.
