Dean Michael Hood, College of Fine Arts, has been elected to a three-year term as secretary of the National Theatre Conference (NTC). The conference, now in its seventy-fifth year, is an organization of professional, academic, and community leaders in the American theater.

The conference, which meets annually in New York City, serves as a think tank in support of the development and the health of the American theater, and has been particularly engaged in encouraging new playwrights and plays, as well as making awards to outstanding theater artists, administrators, educators, and companies.

Membership in the conference is by election and cannot exceed 150.
