Former Health and Physical Education (HPED) student Doug Bolster, recipient of the 2010 Young Alumni Achievement Award, will return to IUP on Monday, November 8, 2010, to speak to student groups, attend an awards luncheon, and visit the facilities in Zink Hall and at the university.
All are invited to an informal punch and cookie reception from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the Crimson Event Center. This is an opportunity for students to ask questions and have discussion with the Young Alumni Achievement Award winners.
Dr. Bolster will later be speaking to the HPED and Physical Education and Sport students in Zink Hall, Room 108, at 3:45 p.m. All are invited to attend as Dr. Bolster speaks about his professional achievements and educational experiences since graduating from IUP.
Currently, he is senior research scientist at Nestle Healthcare Nutrition, and he has also worked as senior research scientist for the Universities Space Research Association and Exercise Countermeasures Project at the NASA Johnson Space Center. He has been a prolific grant writer, and has received multiple research awards from such organizations as the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Diabetes Association.
IUP is pleased that Dr. Bolster will be here to address our students and faculty, and we look forward to his presentation and hearing more details about his multifaceted professional career.
