Five students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania were selected for the 2026 Career and Leadership Skills Academy, a strategic collaboration between the PA Bankers Association, IUP, Shippensburg University, Commonwealth University, and Kutztown University.
“Annually, S&T welcomes students to participate in our dynamic internship program where they are part of a structured, meaningful experience preparing them for life after graduation,” S&T Chief Human Resources Officer Susan Nicholson said. “We are honored to have recently been recognized as one of 2026 Greatest Places to Intern in Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.”
“A key component of the program is participation in the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Career and Leadership Skills Academy,” Nicholson said. “This nine-week program covers topics such as emotional intelligence, personal branding, networking and inclusion and belonging in the workplace. We believe this hands-on learning experience helps interns to gain the knowledge, confidence, and interpersonal skills to support their future success in the workforce.”
“I am incredibly proud of the IUP students who completed the Career and Leadership Skills Academy,” IUP Director of Workforce Development and Program Manager Kristen O’Hara said. “Serving as program manager has been a rewarding experience, and it has been exciting to see our students grow in confidence, professionalism, and leadership throughout the program. They embraced each opportunity to learn, connect with professionals, and develop skills that will serve them well beyond their college experience.”

Geraldo Frantz, a computer science major from Chambersburg. He is a 2023 graduate of Chambersburg Area High School. He is a dean’s list student and a member of Ubora Men of IUP and IUP’s Latino Student Organization.

Drashti Parimal Shah, a computer science software engineering major and cybersecurity minor from Ontario. Daughter of Purvi Shah and Parimal Shah, she is a dean’s list student and member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is treasurer of the IUP Indian Student Association and volunteers for the Indiana Fire Association.

Lily Shilling, an honors track economics major with a minor in applied statistics from Shelocta. Daughter of Ed and Janet Shilling, she is a dean’s list student and provost scholar and is the recipient of the Karl McDermott Scholarship for Economics and the Transfer Student Scholarship.

Ryan Stancombe, a finance major from Johnstown. Son of Rick and Allison Stancombe, he is a 2023 graduate of Ferndale Area High School. He is a member of the Student Managed Investment Portfolio group.

John Trimbath, a finance and economics major from Dunbar. Son of Paul and Monica Trimbath, he is a 2020 graduate of Connellsville High School. He is a member of IUP’s Student Managed Investment Portfolio group and the Student Finance Association.
