Dr. Rachelle Bouchat, assistant professor in the Math Department, had an art piece accepted into a juried art exhibit at the Mathematical Art Gallery that is held in conjunction with the Joint Mathematics Meetings this January, in Seattle.

The piece is a double-knit scarf that showcases the mathematical principle of recursion. The design for the main panels of the scarf are based on the 11th iteration of the Dragon Fractal, and the striping pattern in between the main panels showcases the beauty of the Fibonacci Sequence.
