The Office of Service Learning will hold a three-day food drive to benefit the Indiana County Community Action Program's food bank.
Students will collect items and hand out informational fliers about ICCAP on Friday, April 1, 2011, from noon to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at BiLo, along North Fourth Street.
The Office of Service Learning promotes professional and personal character development for IUP students through experiential learning opportunities that bridge the curriculum with community service.
The office is currently preparing for IUP's spring “Into the Streets” program on April 9. More than one hundred students are expected to take part in this biannual event, offering a day of service to nonprofit agencies in the community.
