The men's basketball team won its second straight PSAC tournament championship after defeating Slippery Rock 82-75 on Saturday, March 5, 2011.

The win brought the Crimson Hawks' record to 24-5 on the season, earning them the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region tournament, which will be held at West Liberty, W.Va., starting Saturday, March 12.

The Crimson Hawks will play seventh-seeded West Virginia Wesleyan in the opening round Saturday. In the teams' most recent meeting, December 7, West Virginia Wesleyan rallied from behind to defeat IUP 73-71.

IUP won the Atlantic Region tournament last year en route to its first NCAA national championship game in school history.

In the Crimson Hawks' victory Saturday—their eleventh straight—senior forward Darryl Webb led the way with twenty-four points and eleven rebounds and earned tournament MVP honors.
