The men's basketball team advanced to the NCAA Atlantic Region semifinals after defeating West Virginia Wesleyan 66-59 in the tournament's opening round Saturday, March 12, 2011.

Next, the Crimson Hawks will face Bowie State on Sunday, March 13, at 5:00 p.m. Bowie State defeated Mansfield 79-59 in its quarterfinal Saturday.

The Atlantic Region tournament is being held in West Liberty, W.Va., but IUP games are being aired online at PennAtlantic.com and on IUP-TV (Comcast Channel 6).

Winners of Sunday's semifinals will face off for the Atlantic Region championship on Tuesday, March 15, at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Julian Sanders led the Crimson Hawks with 17 points, followed by Darryl Webb with 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Ashton Smith with 12 points and five assists.
